Cowshed

The primary purpose of a gaushala is to protect, care for, and nurture cows, especially those that are old, injured, abandoned, or no longer productive in terms of milk yield. Gaushalas have religious and cultural significance in India, as cows are revered in Hinduism and are seen as symbols of wealth, strength, and purity.
Manthan Foundation manage gaushalas with the aim of promoting animal welfare, preserving indigenous cow breeds, and advocating for ethical treatment of livestock.
We provide shelter and care for cows that are often abandoned by farmers when they are no longer able to produce milk. Gaushalas offer these cows a safe environment where they can live out the rest of their lives in peace and comfort.
